Flaming Gorge Dam Release: Currently, the water flows below Flaming Gorge Dam are about 1,790 cubic feet per second (cfs) & will continue at this rate for the next 3-4 days. These flow rates significantly influence fishing conditions, affecting water clarity, insect activity, and fish behavior, but your local float fishing guide is fully aware of all water conditions and plans the very best section for our fishing guests each & everyday.

Green River Fly Hatch Information
Let’s examine the fly hatches and recommended patterns for each section of the Green River:
Section A (7.6-mile stretch below the dam):
Caddis Hatch: The Caddis hatch is thick, and PMD spinners and Yellow Sallies dance on the water’s surface.
Recommended Flies: Use BWO nymphs and emergers in sizes 18-22 during hatches. PMD patterns like Parachute Adams and Sparkle Duns work well.
Section B:
Morning Hatches: Caddis and PMD hatches last until around 2 PM.
River Flow: The river flows gracefully, inviting you to explore its hidden pockets and riffles.
Recommended Flies: Elk Hair Caddis and X-Caddis imitations in sizes 14-18.
Section C:
Hatches: PMDs and terrestrials steal the show.
