Check Fishing Guide Calendar Availability →
The Green River is running a double-peak release this week, roughly 1,800 CFS on average with cold, clear tailwater and a busy late summer hatch. Morning Tricos, midday terrestrials, and evening caddis are all in play for anglers who can read the seams.
Below is the current dam release status, water temperature and clarity, hatch timing, our recommended fly box, and a full tactical breakdown of Sections A, B, and C. With flows surging midday and precise presentations required, a guided drift boat is the most productive way to reach the active feeding zones.
Current Dam Release Status
Water Temperature, Clarity and River Conditions
- Strong morning dry fly windows with Tricos and midges
- Excellent midday terrestrial action
- Evening caddis remains productive
- Double-peak flows create unsettled fish and require precise presentations
- Inside seams and soft edges outperform heavy mid-river current
- Dutch John Resort fly fishing guides maneuver drift boats into the correct seams and eddies for excellent access to all active feeding zones
- Afternoon winds may assist terrestrial drift
